Melbourne's annual Pride March had a collision with our most recent heatwave, so under clear blue skies it was plus 40 degrees C and sizzling. We were fortunate enough to have top row seats, watching the whole affair from the uber stylish surrounds of The Prince Deck, thanks to real estate sales supremo Will Walton who was celebrating his career with pride. Keeping as cool as we best could with Mojito's, flowing Verve bubbles, gallons of mineral water and the odd icy pole, we cheered the Dykes on Bikes and all the assorted factions marching to the beat of a unified drum way down on the melting asphalt.
Post parade it was down to The Prince's street bars for a touch more celebration and some old-time catch ups.
