Nestled on the St Kilda foreshore is a sprawling single story storey building, originally constructed as a bathing pavilion, it is now the home of one of Melbourne's more celebrated restaurants, Donovans. Renowned for it's relaxed but meticulous decor, impeccable service and fabulous cuisine, along with it's prime location, we had never chanced an appointment there. But last evening, with an occasion to celebrate, the Castle did Donovans. What can we say. Full marks. And when next we feel a little frivolous and fancy, we'll be back for sure.
