This newly developed "parkland" that hovers over the streets of lower westside Manhattan is a touch of brilliance and has become a massive hit. Locals and tourists alike appear to flock here to walk, photograph, read, sunbake or just hangout. Whilst the city still rattles and hums below, there is a sense of safety and calm and a million wonderful views from up here.
Created from disused freight rail lines, that were built above the city streets for safety in the 1930's, it is bringing such a buzz in the neighbourhoods that it runs through. It has begun an urban renewal that is leaping ahead at lightning speed. The Highline. An amazing adventure.

Running from near 10th Ave & 30th Street down to Gansevoort & Washington.
Get high on this one.
