Pansexual Prince(ess)

Way back in 2002 Mr Brown was commissioned by Melbourne's Midsumma Festival, to create a series of banners to adorn the Prince of Wales Hotel for the duration of the festival as well as to be a focal artwork on St Kilda's Fitzroy Street for the annual Pride March.  A carnivalistic riot of pattern and colour, celebrating the diversity of our queer community.

These banners are now in the archival collection of the City of Port Phillip Council.

Hanging at Cose Ipanema.

On the sleek strip of Collins Street is the wonderful temple dedicated to goods and garments of ultimate luxe and design, Cose Ipanema.  This emporium, managed by the delightfully stylish Semra Hussein has become temporary home to several of Mr Brown's artworks from his current The Printed Painting series as well as a piece from Chris Orr's Bone Idol suite.  Its a fitting marriage of art and fashion.

As well, there is this wonderful sculptural installation by Aly Aitken, Outside In, mingling amongst the racks of fashion

So if you would like to view these works as well as get a fashion fix, pop in to see Sam at

Dining at Mon Amour

A fantastic new restaurant has appeared in Albert Park, with the charming name of Mon Amour.  It is well living up to its name and has become our current food crush.  Beautifully presented as a European style delicatessen and wine store, it serves wonderful and interesting breakfast and lunch fare and is open for dining 3 evenings a week.  Highly recommended for grabbing a coffee and brunch on the outdoor terrace and watching the Albert Park hustle and bustle trundle by.

The Printed Painting & Bone Idol Opening.

Gavin Brown in front of "Sacre Coeur" by Serge Thomann.
This Queens Birthday Long weekend saw the opening of Gavin Brown's "The Printed Painting" & Chris Orr's 'Bone Idol" exhibitions.  A fabulous afternoon of great friends, art and wine at our favourite city gallery, Fortyfivedownstairs.

The exhibition's run until the 20th of June so there is still a week or two to pop in and take a look at
