Deciding on a day trip out of the Dam, we jump a regional train to the nearby city of Haarlem. Not 30 minutes down the track and we arrive to wander the tranquil streets, laneways and canals of this beautiful town.
On the Grote Markt, town square, we grab some coffee and cake at the Grand Cafe Brinkmann, basking in the sunshine and eyeing the Grote Kirk, standing solidly at the city centre.
The spectacular timber vaulted ceiling of Grote Kirk.
Lucky enough to catch the organ in operation. Heavenly sounds.
A tour through the Frans Hals Museum to check out the local collection of master paintings and more.
And then a curious little show at the De Hallen Museum,
HUMOUR-101 years of Laughing at Art.
The spooky Dancing Man.
