Having just left Bagan, we arrived in Mandalay to stay in the aptly named Bagan King Hotel. The wonderful drawcard for this hotel was its fabulous rooftop dinning room and cocktail bar. Being six floors up and with a 270 degree view of Mandalay it was a great space for breakfast or cocktail hour. They also provided a little cultural entertainment in the evenings. And have the best roof detailing.
