Our home for 4 days in Yangon was the fabulous Kandawgyi Palace Hotel. Located a little away from the city centre but sited on the shores of the Kandawgyi Lake, it sported a wonderful pool that was essential for a mid afternoon dip to break the heat and dust of the dry season. And the breakfast was a super spread of fruits, juices, soups, pastries, pancakes and more. A veritable feast of local and international fare, it rated 10/10.
Accomodation is still being sorted in Myanmar and there is not much in the mid or boutique range. This was although not in the downtown, certainly a top site to choose and the ammenities made it well worth the price.
