Jumping from the 14th century to the 21st century, some seated sculptures we spied at the National Gallery of Victoria on one of our recent visits.

Dragon Ladies.

Late last century this band of bad girls were known as "Dragon Ladies" and plied their trade of entertainment at the legendary Prince of Wales Hotel in St Kilda on a Sunday evening.

Seen here LtoR, Rita La Coque Eater, Hot Coco, Stella Constellation and Min Sing.

The Melbourne Book.

The delightful and talented Maree Coote of Melbourne Style notoriety summoned a select group to the High Society Cocktail Lounge for the launch of the fourth edition of her brilliant tome 

"The Melbourne Book- A history of now".

Ten years on and four editions later this compendium of the famous and infamous Melbourne places and people is a treasured reference.

Judy Holding - Connections II @ 45Downstairs.

Judy Holding held her latest exhibition, Connections II at one of our favourite art haunts, 45 Downstairs, last week.  Again featuring her wonderful trademark gumtree silhouettes and treating images of birds in several interesting ways (lookout for the lego Budgies).  Another fine show.
