New in 2015.

To ring in an exciting New Year for 2015, here is a first glimpse of the new work to come this year.  Keep an eye out and you will see more of these brilliant new pieces from Gavin Brown and then mid year, in June, he will be presenting an exhibition.

Happy New Year 2015.

Pam Ann comes back to her roots.

The lucky punters at Melbourne's mega club, The Greyhound Hotel, were the only folk in the land to cop a serving of the wicked wisdom of celebrity air hostess to the stars, Pam Ann.  In a one off Boxing Days touchdown into her home town. Pam let fly with all manner of topical taunts and risqué reminiscences.  From the Sydney siege to the misfortunes of Malaysia Airlines or the vagaries of Australian Customs vigilance, nothing escaped her critical commentary. All noted with her "#. Too Soon" catch cry.  Born in the Melbourne club scene and raised by a rabble of drag queens, Pam is now an international jet setting comedic terrorist who will not be constrained by the political correctness of our current dull times.

Always happy to have this wayward wonder home in Melbourne.

Dining @ OPPA.

Popped into the city today to check out the holiday sales now that the Boxing Day frenzy has died down.  We took a shine to this brand new Korean restaurant on Swanston Street and decided to give it a whirl.  And what a great choice, fresh, tasty and cute as a button.

Great little snacks of Crispy Seaweed Rolls and Kimchi Dumplings.

A "Meal Bucket" of Spicy Chicken Bulgogi.

A "Meal Bucket" of Grilled Pork Belly Bulgogi.

We'll definitely be back to check out their K.F.C. (Korean Fried Chicken) and have a go at the  Bi Bim Bap, with optional Hot Stone??

Fun, cheap and fresh, they just need the Pop Asia show pumping out of a few screens.

Santa's house party

Those clever kids at The Carlton have been rummaging throughout their busy box's and slaving away like elves to bring all of their good punters the glorious gift of Santa's House Party.  Level 4 has been re-imagined into a Xmas themed carnival for carousing with an interactive life-size snow dome, a tasty Gingerbread houseparty house and a Igloo  Discgoo.  And of course naughty Santa puts a lot more XXX in Xmas in his present cave.

The Castle kids in the snow dome.

Thats not really Santa.

DJ Frank gets targeted.

Trying on the good act with Naught Santa.

Naughty Santa, well, just being naughty.

Naughty Santa training his elf.

Taking confessions from Lucy.

Jim & the boys hit the glitter dome.

Queen of the Elves, YelzaYelza.

Thank you to Tracey, James and the always fun crew at The Carlton for spreading the festive cheer to us all.  You can still hit the Santa House Party experience until Christmas eve.

Mpavilion

Mpavilion is just another of those things that makes Melbourne so marvellous.  A wonderful initiative from the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, which has seen the commissioning and construction of a temporary space that will operate for 4 months from October '14 until February '15 over the Spring/Summer period.  A very clever and stylish structure it is too, designed by local Melbourne architect, Sean Godsell.  A whole slew of talks, performances and events have been programmed in for the general publics pleasure.
Our dear friends the Buckingham-Betts called a troupe of us along to enjoy this fine structure with a pre Christmas tipple and to celebrate dear Robert Buckingham's birthday.
Sited opposite the National Gallery of Victoria on St Kilda Road in the Queen Victoria Gardens, it was a wonderful place to be on a mild summers evening, surrounded by lovely manicured gardens and a host of beautiful sculptures.

Happy birthday Bob.

We are indeed fortunate to live in a city that affords such brilliant initiatives.

Marvellous Mpavilion in Melbourne.  Thanks Ms Milgrom.
