Awhile ago Mr Brown left several of his paintings at one of our favourite spaces, Nyary | 604.

They worked perfectly within this fabulous interior 

(as reported previously).

And as a heads up, Nyary now have a brilliant new "Parkside" outlet, which you will find at, 113 Bridport Street in Albert Park.

From 1985, Melbourne's version of The Alternative Miss World pageant.  An explosion of colour and pattern as seen here with Kara Baker in her Siren label creation, Kehren Eade in a hand painted Plain Jane ensemble "10 Famous Paintings" and Gavin Brown in a Plain Jane "Indian Snakes and Ladders" outfit.

Dining @ Chinchin.

Curious as to the hype about Chinchin, we dropped by for lunch recently.

Super buzzy and happening at 2pm on a Monday afternoon, at least we only had a short wait.

Overly under designed, with many a funky finish. Is it a restaurant or an oversize cafe?

But at the end of the day its about the food, right? 

Very interesting and authentic textures and flavours, but it may need a second try to work out if its brilliant or blah.

The Autumn season has brought along a slew of bijou offerings and Lisa & Lisa from The Accessories Project have scoured the globe and the past decades to bring Melbourne an edit of the highly desirable.  In a preview exhibition of what T/A/P envisage launching late 2013, contemporary bling mixes it with 20th century baubles to stunning effect.

While attending an exhibition in the iconic Nicholas Building, we stumbled across one of those dark magical corners that makes Melbourne so interesting and brilliant.

This wonderland of the curious and the macabre is the realm of artist and creative gentleman Andrew Delaney.  A little cave packed full of religious artefacts, memento mori, antiquities and anatomical amputations.  If you are looking for a Sacre Coure fashioned from hessian, this is the place to fossick.  Where a cleverly stiffened and contorted lace doily becomes a skull in gossamer.

Visit the mysterious and beguiling Mr Delaney in his crypt of creativity,
