The launch of Kris Darmody and Brenton Geyer's "The Gay Agenda" @ On Stone in South Melbourne last Thursday was the hot ticket in more ways than one. An exciting cross section of Melbourne's GLBTI community sizzled in the scorching heat, but were rewarded with a seemingly endless supply of bubbles, beer and cider and a bountiful buffet table.
We dropped by Borsch Vodka & Tears for an express Friday evening meal after the 2narama exhibition. With a slim 50 minute window before our table would be required for a prior booking, we vodkaed up and chowed on some fine Polish fare. A long time player at this better end of Chapel Street, BV&T is as consistent and snappy as ever. After a plate of Pierogi and a Goulash washed away with Bison and apple refreshments we went home very happy.
In a curious corner of our beloved Saint Kilda lives a Tinker and his wife. To enter their world is like stepping into another time, a gentler, more fanciful and enchanting realm.
Inhabited by all manner of puppets, creatures and contraptions that tell tales of another side of imagination. And which are often deftly illustrated by their creator.
